Mission Statement: ACCESS Academy is a private school for students with language and learning disabilities. The school provides students from kindergarten to age 21 with comprehensive education and life skills training.
Overview: ACCESS Academy’s curriculum focuses on oral expression, literature, math, science, social studies, technology, and fine arts. All classrooms include class projects, development of social and organizational skills, and vocational education. ACCESS Academy is comprised of six classrooms, hosting classes of ten to sixteen students.

ACCESS Academy is divided into three categories: the Lower, Intermediate, and Upper schools. These categories do not follow the traditional grade division; rather, a student’s abilities take precedence over his age when placing the child in a particular category. The Lower School prepares students for elementary school level academic work and classroom expectations. Intermediate School classes prepare students to either pursue a traditional high school diploma elsewhere or continue to the ACCESS Academy Upper School classrooms, which offer a General Equivalency Diploma program and vocational education. Additionally, students of all ages may receive therapy services including speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and “academic therapy”—individual specialized tutoring.
ACCESS Academy also offers student life activities, allowing students to participate in physical fitness programs, extracurricular sports teams (track, swimming, cheerleading/spirit team leaders), student council, ACCESS Night Out monthly evening events, the ACCESS Adventure summer program, and prom. Upper School students may participate in ACCESS Gardens, an outdoor classroom featuring weekly gardening lessons on specific areas of horticulture.
ACCESS also provides additional services through ACCESS Resource Center and ACCESS Therapy.
