Mission Statement: The Ronald McDonald House provides a “home away from home” that serves and sustains families of children being treated at area hospitals and supports community programs that serve the needs of children.
Overview: Little Rock’s Ronald McDonald House is a 28-bedroom home that provides housing and services to families with a child receiving treatment at an area hospital, particularly Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Families that live farther than 50 miles or 45 minutes away from Little Rock and have a child 21 years of age or younger are eligible to stay at the House. Families with children having outpatient procedures may stay for one to three nights. Families who have a child in any of the ICU facilities or in the burn center may stay at the Ronald McDonald House for up to 30 consecutive days. After thirty days, these families must check out and wait a period of three days before being placed back on the waiting list. Cancer patients may stay at the Ronald McDonald House for up to one year while receiving treatments.
The Ronald McDonald House provides one private bedroom per family for up to four family members. In addition to a place to stay, the Ronald McDonald House provides dinner every night, laundry facilities and other supplies, including:
